What is ILEA?
ILEA stands for the International Live Events Association—the principal community representing creative event professionals, globally.
If I join the Rhode Island Chapter am I also a member of the International Chapter?
Yes. When you ILEA Rhode Island, you also become a member of the international organization. Make sure to check out our sister chapter, ILEA Boston.
Who runs ILEA Rhode Island?
ILEA Rhode Island is governed by a local Board of Directors that is nominated and elected by the chapter. At the international level, ILEA is run by a Board of Governors and a full-time management team. The chapter and international boards are volunteer positions.
Can I attend an event without being a member?
Yes. Some our meeting and events are open to non-members. Our events will list is non-member tickets are available for given event. We encourage you to try ILEA out. You will get the most out of ILEA if you join and become involved in the chapter.
If you’re thinking of becoming a member, our Board of Directors invites anyone who isn’t currently member to join one of our monthly meetings, free of charge, to see what ILEA Rhode Island is all about. Simply contact us if you’re interested.
How do I join ILEA?
Signing up for membership is easy and can be completed on the ILEA website. Your membership will be immediately activated and will be valid for a 12-month period. Memberships will renew after the 12-month period.
When and where are the chapter meetings and events held?
Chapter meetings and events are held at a different location around Rhode Island every month, and we discuss and explore something different every time. It’s a great way to see the latest event industry venues while also keeping current on what’s trending in our industry.
Our chapter typically meetings the last Tuesday of each month but can occasionally change to a week prior or even a Wednesday. Explore our current upcoming chapter events.
Does ILEA offer any type of certification?
Yes, ILEA offers the Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) designation. The CSEP designation is the hallmark of professional achievement in the special events industry. It is earned through education, performance, experience, and service to the industry, and reflects a commitment to professional conduct and ethics. Learn more about CSEP certification.
I am a current member. How do I make changes to my member record?
You can manage your ILEA membership on the ILEA Hub. If you need help with your ILEA Membership, please reach out to our chapter’s VP of Membership. You also write to info@ileahub.com if you have questions or technical difficulties with your ILEA membership account.
How do I get the most out of membership?
There are so many ways to maximize your ILEA membership! Take advantage of your membership by attending chapter meetings regularly, attending regional, national, and international events, networking, volunteering, or even joining a committee. Members are also encouraged to enter for the Esprit Awards or even become certified for the CSEP designation.
